A pool deck takes more abuse than any other slab you own: constant water, chlorine or salt, sun all day, and bare feet that notice every flaw. It needs a different approach than a driveway, and that is exactly how we treat it.
We slope the deck away from the coping so water sheds instead of pooling. We set expansion joints where the deck meets the pool shell and the house so nothing telegraphs a crack. And we finish for traction, whether that is a fine broom, a textured stamp with a non-slip additive, or a knock-down surface that stays cooler underfoot.
Sealers matter here. Saltwater systems eat the wrong product in a couple of seasons. We spec what actually survives Middle Tennessee summers and tell you exactly when to reseal.

Does concrete get too hot barefoot?
